Prayer – Discussion Questions

  1. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to "pray without ceasing." In a world full of distractions and busy schedules, what does a "continuous conversation" with God actually look like in your daily routine?

  2. If we truly viewed God as a loving Father who wants to hear from us (rather than a distant authority figure), how would that change the way we approach Him when we’ve messed up or feel unworthy?

  3. Leviticus suggests that praying for specific outcomes helps us see specific results. Have you ever experienced a "specific" answer to prayer that strengthened your faith? Why is it sometimes easier to stay "vague" in our requests?

  4. We see that prayer has proven benefits for reducing anxiety and building resilience. When you are feeling overwhelmed, is prayer your first "coping mechanism" or your last resort? How can we make it our first response?

  5.  In the Parable of the Persistent Widow (Luke 18), we are encouraged to keep asking. How do you find the balance between being persistent in prayer and being patient for God’s timing when the answer seems to be "not yet"?
